Tip #1- Finding your "Why"

Embracing your uniqueness: The "why" behind your journey is as unique as you are.

We all have an idea and a vision of what we want to accomplish in how we look and how we feel. We see examples of it every day on social media platforms, television, in movies, and in TV commercials. But even those ideas brought to life as visuals of happy people who suddenly have all they ever wanted are not necessarily realistic. It is extremely easy to be influenced by what we see on social media and through advertising of how great and beneficial products can be, but in reality, much of what you see is hype and predatory marketing practices that end with little to no results, empty promises, and an empty wallet.

Our ability to now take our health and well-being into our own hands and out of big pharma has made incredible changes in what we as individuals can accomplish. Peptides are a focal point of this and give us the power to be successful in changing our health trajectory in a positive direction. I can personally attest to the power we have when it comes to choice and what it truly means to be in charge of our own personal well-being through the use of peptides. My success has been empowering, and the positive impact on my health is frankly quite amazing.

Life is full of stressors and individual experiences that influence our wants as well as our needs, and being able to identify your "why" will give you an honest foundation to work with and build upon on your journey with peptides.

To be honest, my "why" was purely out of spite. Mounting health problems, doctors telling me nothing was wrong, being gaslighted over and over about my symptoms being in my head. I had a lifetime of stomach issues, chronic fatigue, high cholesterol, high triglycerides, headaches, and general yuck. I was tired of being sick and tired. I tried diets and exercise to no avail, and I was stuck. I was determined to get well, and if I had to do it on my own, so be it! My transformation started when I had food allergy testing done. Not the skin test, but a full-on high quantity blood draw (five large tubes) where they tested response at the molecular level in your blood. No one had even brought up allergies as a possible root cause for the past 40 years. Wow! This was the first step for me, and it provided some much-needed answers. My journey continued to the next phase. I began doing research on accessible options, and then GLP1's and peptides started coming into play. I took the leap and started using Tirzepatide in 2023. And yes, everybody, and I mean EVERYBODY, had something to say about it. But really, at this point, I seriously did not care. Even though I had been provided some answers from allergy testing, I still had the cumulative effects of the past 40 years. My cholesterol was over 300, triglycerides were over 1,000 (yes, really), blood pressure was high, and I was at the heaviest I have ever been; and throw in menopause to that mix as well, which complicated it even further.

Regardless of the specific peptides you are looking into or are actively using, identifying your "why" will help you succeed in reaching your goals.

Tip # 2 -Being Realistic

Being realistic with your expectations is very important. Not what you want to hear, I know, but it is absolutely necessary. And really, your expectations may change over time during your journey, and being willing and able to adapt directly impacts your success. Keep in mind the journey is not linear. There are many ups and downs, and consistency is absolutely essential. Re-inventing the wheel, so to speak, just because you had a bad couple of days or a week, or are not seeing the results you want immediately, does nothing but feed frustration.

Tip #3 - Getting Started; committing to the journey

Saying you are ready and really being ready are two different things. One is an idea and the second is resolve to change and take action.

It's scary and exciting all at the same time.

Tip #4 - The Journey and learning to trust the process

You have started your peptide journey and been consistent for a week. Then you ask yourself, "Why am I not seeing results?" Don't panic and absolutely don't change things up. If you change your approach every time you don't see what you want, you will never get what you are seeking. Consistency and patience are absolutely something you will learn, just as trusting the process. If you don't understand this/accept this/believe this, you will likely fail. This, in turn, sets you up for the never-ending cycle that you are seeking to get out of. A quick fix is a "band-aid" to a bigger issue that provides visual results that make us happy but, in reality, is short-lived and will go away as quickly as it was found, often creating additional problems that didn't exist previously.

Every day is a new day, and no, you will not be perfect, so don't expect yourself to be! Get out of your own way and let the process do what it is intended to do. This goes for all peptides and not just weight loss. But I can't stress this enough if you are on a weight loss journey.

Doing too much too soon is a great way to foster frustration and increase safety issues. Introduce one peptide at a time. This allows your body to adjust and gives you the ability to determine what, if any, side effects are present. It is good practice to give it a couple of weeks before introducing new peptides or "stacking".

Tip #5 - You are never alone

Understand that even though your journey is unique, you are not alone. The Peptide Community is vast and full of information and people just like you. Sharing experiences, challenges, setbacks, and wins helps you every step of the way. So read those blogs, be a part of the chats, be objective, and be curious. Be wary of sites and people who provide general information and high result promises lacking detail. And most importantly those that just want to sell you their product. Finding a reputable peptide provider that also provides education and support features will increase your overall satisfaction and help you succeed.
